Committee and Administrators 2017

Welcome to Penarth & District Wargames Society Website, Wales' premier gaming club. We cover all aspects of gaming, covering periods from Ancients, Medieval, Renaissance, American Civil War, Severn Years War, Napoleonic Wars, World War 1, World War 2, Modern and Ultra Modern Warfare, Sci-Fi and Fantasy using all formats from miniature figures (in 2mm - 40mm+), dice, board games, role-playing and CCG's.

The Society was founded in 1976, in its history has won the best participation game at Colours twice and club members have had their winning rules published as Dogfight Over Flanders. Since 1996 the club has held its very own Wargaming Convention - Crusade, a one day event that has developed into Wales' most successful Wargames Show, and is held at the end of January in St. Cyres School, St. Cyres Road, Penarth, near Cardiff. Every year we also attend several shows to put on a participation game we have devised.

We are proud of our heritage and humble beginnings growing from a purely tabletop figure gaming club to where we are today with a strong Role Playing, Boardgaming and Historical/Sci Fi/Fantasy Figure Gaming community. We don't intend to stop there upwards and onwards.

We hold 4 Quarterly Game Weekends a year where we game from 7.00 p.m. Friday night until 4.00 p.m. Sunday, with a few "social" breaks. The Club is also in the process of restarting a regular Newsletter. We regularly have campaigns running and intend to hosting Play by e-mail campaigns as well as the re-fights of critical battles from History. The club also has a very active social calendar with trips to sites of historical interest. Also we have the odd "Beer & Curry" night.

The club itself meets twice weekly

Tuesdays at Glyndwr Hall, Glyndwr Road in Penarth 7.15pm - 11.00pm.
