Welcome to Penarth & District Wargames Society.
Wales’ largest and possibly best wargames club you will ever be a privileged to be a member of.

Since it started in 1976, the Penarth Wargames Club has gone from strength to strength in its goal of promoting wargaming to the masses
PDWS has seen an increase in influx of membership due to the success of the club’s own wargames show, the highly successful CRUSADE Wargames Show
The club itself meets, every Tuesday at the Glyndwr Hall, Glyndwr Road in Penarth from 7:15pm.
In addition, we hold a Saturday game once a month at Glyndwr Hall and weekend games at Llancaiach Fawr Manor House when we can get in.
Penarth Wargames Club members play a wide variety of periods and game types including:

Ancients, Medieval, Renaissance, Napoleonic Wars, American Civil War, World War 1, World War 2, Modern and Ultra Modern, Modern and Napoleonic Naval though to Fantasy and Sci-fi using figures from 2mm to 28mm.
Our regular Weeknight sessions sometimes also host a mix of board games, various role-play systems and CCG’s.
If you would like to introduce a game to the club, feel free- we always enjoy playing new games.
If you would like to join a game just ask – we can fit just about anyone into the scenario.

Every year Penarth & District Wargames Club attends at least one show to put on a game we have devised.
We regularly attend both Colours and Battle Group South @ Bovington.
At Colours we have won Best Participation game three times.
At Battle Group South’s show in Bovington Tank Museum the club won Best Participation Game in 2007 and 2009, and Best Painted Army in 2007.
So if you have an idea for a game, we will help you play test it. You never know, it may end up as the showpiece game of the Penarth and District Wargamers!
